Faire La Grasse Matinée

This French expression is the favorite one of any people who love to sleep in! Do you have any ideas about its meaning?

Literal Translation: To do/make the fat morning

Actual Meaning: To sleep in

We often say “Faire la grasse mat.”  as an informal way instead of “Faire la grasse matinée”...

Listen to the audio and practice your “grasse mat. or grasse matinée”!

You can use this expression that way :

  1. J’aime faire la grasse matinée!
  2. Ce matin, j’ai fait la grasse matinée!
  3. Ils font la grasse matinée tous les weekends!
  4. Demain matin, je fais la grasse matinée!
